Washington Spirit Day at Ingleside

Almost 200 residents and family members at Ingleside at King Farm are attending the Washington Spirit’s game on July 10 at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds to cheer on Diana Matheson, Robyn Gayle and Conny Pohlers, teammates who live at the retirement community in Rockville. The Spirit players are up against the Chicago Red Stars.

Pohler, a recent signee from Germany, moved into Ingleside at King Farm on June 18. Matheson and Gayle have lived at the retirement community since March.

The intergenerational living arrangement has created a new soccer fan club for residents and a family atmosphere for the young athletes. A large banner in the community reads “Ingleside at King Farm Has Got the Spirit” and sports the team logo.
