Voting Demonstration Units Available to County Residents

VoteThe Montgomery County Board of Elections is urging County residents to become familiar with new voting system.

According to a news release, this year the State of Maryland is carrying out a new papered based, optical scan voting system. Voters will make their selections on ballot-marking devices during early voting, then a ballot will be printed. After verifying the ballot, the voter will then insert it into a scanner to be tabulated.

On Election day, voters will mark selections with pen on paper ballots before inserting them into a scanner for tabulation.

Demonstration units will be available to County residents at the Montgomery County Board of Elections in Gaithersburg located at 18753 N. Frederick Ave., Suite 210.

The Presidential Primary Election early voting will be from April 14 to 21. Presidential Primary Election will be on Tuesday, April 26.
