Vote 2012
The election is just weeks away and MyMCMedia.org is doing its part to make sure you are an informed voter.
You can view videotaped statements from many of the local candidates on our website Vote 2012 page. The day of the first presidential debate, even U.S. Congressman Chris Van Hollen took time out of his busy schedule to stop by MCM studios to get his message out to local voters. Although he is the incumbent, he told me that he is not taking anything for granted in his race. All of the candidates’ messages will be broadcast on Montgomery Channel 21. Don’t have time to watch all the videos now but curious to know who stopped by? You can find photos of all the candidates who stopped by our studios in the Candidates Spotlight post and/or on our MyMCMedia Facebook page.
So are you registered to vote? If not, hurry up. The deadline is just a day away: Oct. 16.
From now until Election Day, you will find lots of information on our website about voter registration, early voting, the election machines and absentee ballots. We are committed to providing information for you about the candidates, the issues, and we plan to cover some of the local debates. Once the polls close, you will find election results and election turnout information on our website, too.
Want more? Well, the hosts of “21 This Week” and “Montgomery Week in Review” are now discussing election issues each week on their television shows. You can find video clips from their shows on our website as well.
What else is new? Well, we have also added two political bloggers who are sounding off about the issues and candidates on our website. Be sure and check out Frank McCaffrey’s and Steve Simon’s respective blog posts. We’d love to add you as a blogger (political or not) too. Let us know if you want to write on our site. Visit our “Blog with MCM” page to learn more.
Is there something you want to hear more about? Again, let us know and we will try to cover it. You can contact us here, on Facebook, Twitter or even send us a note on our You Tube channel.
