Volunteers Work in Rain to Set Up Flag Display (PHOTOS)

The rain didn’t stop volunteers from setting up the Flags for Our Heroes Display at Bohrer Park Thursday.

In all 750 flags will adorn the lawn at Bohrer Park. They will be put in place by the Rotary Clubs of Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. Each flag will be sponsored by a firm or individual to honor his or her “hero.”

The program pays tribute to past and present heroes, honoring members of the military, police, firefighters, teachers, coaches, mentors, and other community leaders. The City of Gaithersburg’s Wells/Robertson House and CHARACTER COUNTS! program are among the many local charitable organizations that benefit.
