Volunteers Needed for Thanksgiving Parade in Silver Spring
The 19th Annual Thanksgiving Parade will take place downtown Silver Spring on Nov. 19 and event organizers say volunteers are still needed.
Volunteers will be responsible for handling balloons and dressing up in costumes such as elves and pilgrims for floats.
“We are looking for people ages 13 and up,” said Parade Coordinator Elizabeth Gallauresi. “They can be younger if escorted by a parent.”
Volunteers must be available from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Organizers are expecting 10,000 people to attend.
Volunteers will meet at the Silver Spring Civic Building at One Veterans Place at Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street.
