Very Upsetting
Everyone knows that college football is a sport of thrillers and upsets. College football has proven time and time again that you can lose to ANYONE that you play. The past two weeks have been moments that we realized and remember that nobody is safe. Last week Stanford stunned Oregon 26-20 and Virginia Tech destroyed a good Miami team. There hadn’t been many upsets before last week and now the upset party has started and shows no signs of leaving. This week, the same Stanford lost to a unranked USC Trojan team. USC has found a sudden spark under new interim coach Ed Orgeron. Miami fell again to a Duke team that is not very good (Duke now leads the ACC Coastal division). Maryland beat Virginia Tech in overtime and Auburn beat Georgia by a Hail Mary pass that tipped off of a Georgia defender and landed in the hands of a Auburn wide receiver. The BCS rankings have been different every week because the underdogs have showed up big time. With all of the big teams taking hits now their may be a one loss team in the National Championship. Teams like Oregon, Auburn and Missouri are still very alive in the National title picture. I am not so convinced that the power house programs like Florida State and Alabama will loose. These teams have put up crazy numbers and have not showed that it is possible for them to loose this year. We will see who comes out on top but it will be tough for teams like Ohio State and Baylor to stay undefeated. It is hard to run the table when 5 good teams are trying to hit a big red target on your back. Who knows what will happen to Florida State if they loose quarterback Jameis Winston to a sexual abuse scandal. What happens in the next three weeks will be very interesting and exciting so expect the unexpected.
