Montgomery County police have released a composite sketch of the man they think raped a woman Saturday in Montgomery Village.

The man is described as in his late 20s with brown hair. He is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has a tattoo behind his left ear and was last seen wearing a sweatshirt and jeans.

About 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 20, the woman was leaving a Ride-On bus near the 19300 block of Watkins Mill Road, police said. She noticed the man started following her as she walked from the bus stop.

She began to run but the man knocked her down, police said. The man then pulled the woman into a grassy area by the nearby woods where he raped her, police said.

The woman was able to get away from the suspect and return to her home.

The woman went to a local hospital where the police were notified of the attack.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or who may have information to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to their line that leads to an arrest.
