Two Strong-Arm Robberies Reported in Gaithersburg
Gaithersburg police reported for February two strong-arm robberies, an armed robbery and an attempted strong-arm robbery.
A strong arm robbery was reported at 2:31 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 400 block of North Frederick Avenue. Someone and a victim were involved in a physical altercation where the robber obtained property and fled on foot. The suspect was later located, placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
A strong arm robbery was reported at 11:31 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Boulevard. The victim was approached by a robber who demanded property and fled on foot. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
An armed robbery was reported at 1:32 a.m. Feb. 17 in the area of West Side Drive and Muddy Branch Road. The victim was approached by two men who brandished a knife and demanded property. The men obtained property and fled on foot. The first man was described as 19 to 22 years of age, with short hair and thin build, last seen wearing black sweat shirt and black baggy sweat pants. The second man was described as 19 to 24 years of age, with short hair and thin build, last seen wearing a black sweat shirt and black baggy sweat pants. A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Bookham Lane. Someone entered the home by smashing the rear window and removed property. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
A residential burglary was reported at 2:56 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 300 block of Bristol Downs Drive. Someone entered a garage but did not enter the home. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
A residential burglary was reported at 6:42 p.m. Feb. 6 in the unit block of Maryland Avenue. Sometime between Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, someone entered the home through the back door and removed property. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
An attempted residential burglary was reported at 2:07 a.m. Feb. 6 in the unit block of Hutton Street. Someone tried to enter the home through a rear door without success. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
An attempted residential burglary was reported at 10:55 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 300 block of Russell Avenue. Someone tried to enter the home through a rear window without success. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
A residential burglary was reported at 11:26 a.m. Feb. 4 in the 400 block of Gaither Street. Someone entered the home through an unlocked door and removed property. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
A residential burglary was reported at 10:40 a.m. Feb. 2 in the unit block of Tulip Drive. Someone entered the vacant home but removed no property. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
A residential burglary was reported at 10:12 a.m. Feb. 2 in the 200 block of Fairbanks Drive. Someone entered the residence through an unlocked sliding door and removed property. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
An attempted strong arm robbery was reported at 11:54 a.m. Feb. 1 in 400 block of North Frederick Avenue. Someone approached the victim and demanded property but obtained nothing. Case Status: Gaithersburg police investigating.
