Woman Dies Crossing Beall Avenue in Rockville
Update, Friday: A woman struck Saturday — identified by police as Jiayun Karen Liang, 36, of San Francisco, California — died Thursday from her injuries, a Montgomery County police report says.
Original post: Two pedestrians were hurt Saturday night when they were struck by a Rockville Volunteer Fire Department pickup truck, a Montgomery County police statement said.
The truck, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, hit the pedestrians — a man and a woman — about 9:30 p.m. on Beall Avenue, police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Diane Evans, 59, of Rockville was driving the Silverado. She was not injured.
The incident is still being investigated. If anyone witnessed the collision or has more information, they are asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
