Twilight Runfest Countdown Begins on March 23

Join the City of Rockville, Rockville Rotary, Darcars and the Montgomery County Road Runners as it countdowns to the 29th Darcars Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest which is set for July 19.

On Sunday, March 23, from 3-6 p.m., organizers are hosting the first ever “Twilighter Kick-Off Day,” where runners can get a registration discount and celebrate with friends at Bar Louie in Rockville Town Square.

Sign up for the 2014 Twilight Runfest at www.rockvilletwilighter.org any time on March 23 and your race registration is only $20. The following day, the fee goes up to $34. Win cash prizes and more at the Bar Louie race kick-off party.

Twilight Runfest organizers have added new event features this year. In addition to the popular 8K and 1-mile Fun Run, there will be a Family Fitness Walk. Also, expect to hear great live music along the running route this year. The race ends with a huge block party with free music, food and drinks.

The Runfest is the signature fundraising event for the Rockville Youth Recreation Fund. Last year the fund raised more than $50,000 in scholarships for Rockville children who were not otherwise able to participate in City recreation programs. About $40,000 of that was raised by the Runfest.
