Early Voting Day One Turnout Breaks Maryland All-Time Single-Day Record
The Maryland State Board of Elections announced that Monday’s unofficial voter turnout of more than 161,000 was the highest single-day early voting turnout in the state’s history. The total surpassed the previous unofficial single-day early voting record of about 143,000 from the final day of early voting in the 2016 general election, according to a press release.
In Montgomery County, more than 24,000 residents turned out to cast their ballot on the first day of early voting, according to officials.
