Turkey Trot Kicks off Holiday Drive (Video)
Rockville needs your help to make the holidays special for everyone in our community. For more than 40 years the Rockville annual holiday drive has been distributing food and toys to local families during the holidays. Your support will make a difference. The students of Robert Frost Middle School ran a Turkey Trot to help raise funds.
If you are interested in helping, new toys for kids of all ages can be dropped off before Thursday, Dec. 13, at the following locations:
* City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue
* Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway
* Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Drive
* Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, 355 Martins Lane
* Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive
Monetary donations and $15 gift certificates to stores such as Giant, Safeway, Target, Best Buy and Old Navy, are also needed. They should be sent to City of Rockville Community Services, 30 Courthouse Square, Suite 100, Rockville, 20850.
This year, Rockville anticipates helping more than 1,300 children in 530 homes with food and toy donations through the support of community members like you.
For more information contact the Division of Community Services at 240-314-8300.
The kids of Robert Frost Middle School took to the track to raise money for the Rockville Holiday Drive. Rockville 11 was there to catch the action.
