June 5 is Deadline to Register to Vote in June Primary

The Deadline to Register to Vote or Update an Existing Voter Registration before the June Primary is June 5

Montgomery County residents planning to vote in the 2018 Gubernatorial Primary Election must be registered to vote no later than June 5 at 9 p.m. Voter registration closes at that time and remains closed until July 9, or upon certification of the Primary Election.

Only registered voters will be able to vote in the 2018 Gubernatorial Primary Election on June 26, or during early voting from June 14 through 21. Registered voters do not need to register to vote again.

Registered voters may verify their registration information or change political party affiliation using Maryland’s online voter registration system.  These changes need to be completed prior to the June 5 at 9 p.m. deadline.

The requirements to register to vote in Maryland include being a U.S. Citizen, a Maryland resident and at least 16 years old.

Visit Maryland’s online voter registration system to verify registration information, download a paper voter registration form at www.777vote.org, call 240.777.VOTE, or visit the Montgomery County Board of Elections, in person, at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, in Gaithersburg.

The Montgomery County Board of Elections office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Tuesday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Applications are also available at county libraries, regional service centers, all offices of the Montgomery County Health and Human Services, the State of Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles, and U.S. Post Offices.
