Trifecta of Snow Freezing Rain, Sleet Expected to Fall in MoCo
UPDATED: The National Weather Service has lifted the winter weather advisory now issuing a winter storm warning in effect until 3 a.m.
The new alert predicts a more sleet, freezing rain event. A winter storm warning means significant amounts of ice are expected or occurring.

Montgomery County is under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service, from 7 a.m. Sunday through 3 a.m. March 2.
This forecast as a nasty combo of snow, sleet and freezing rain: the trifecta of trouble. The NWS says one to two inches of snow and sleet is expected in Montgomery County, with about one tenth of an inch of ice to top it off.
The snow starts Sunday morning and is expected to change to sleet and freezing rain between noon and 3 p.m. It should all end as freezing rain.
The temperatures won’t help matters as they are predicted to be around 20 degrees in the morning and rising to the low to mid 30s Sunday afternoon before dipping down into the lower 30s late night, according to the NWS.
