Tree Limb Crashes Through Chevy Chase Home Leaving Family Displaced

A Chevy Chase family was forced to find temporary living accommodations after a major tree limb crashed through the roof of their home just before noon on Oct. 24.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer captured photos of the tree jutting out from the Chevy Chase home, tweeting out Saturday that the home was occupied at the time of the incident.

Despite major property damage, Piringer says no one was injured.

The tree limb also engulfed much of the rear of the home, as seen in Piringer’s photos.

Crews arrived in a matter of hours with a large crane and chainsaws to remove the limbs. A video captured by Piringer shows the main limb being cut by a crew member and lifted off the house.
