Travel from Denver to Albuquerque
Hi everyone it’s Wednesday morning an I’m recapping the first two days of our trip to Denver and the southwest. Monday we spent most of the day in airports, renting cars and geting settled in. Tuesday our journey began with the first leg, going from Denver CO. to Albuquerque New Mexico. It was a long but interesting drive, seeing the landscape mostly prairie and tumbleweed. Driving was pleasant as we went further south down rt.25 in Colorado. There was no traffic and wide open roads with speed limits of 75mph which of course seemed slow for those roads, and not many people followed it anyway. We made our first stop in Santa Fe and went to an open market where the locals, native americans, sell homemade crafts. Today we are heading out to Flagstaff Arizona with stops at a Pueblo, petrified forest, and the painted desert. See some of the photos and a couple of videos taken so far. Sorry for the quality of the video but I dont have anything to edit with. I will update with more hopefully tonight of our trip today.
You stopped under the portal at the Palace of the Governors. All the vendors there are Native Americans, not mostly. It’s a strictly controlled program where vendors are held to certain standards to assure shoppers they are getting quality goods produced by native peoples and protect them from fakes..
Thanks for the input, we did find out from a few of the vendors that they are picked by lottery every day for their spot. Also thanks for the proper term of Native Americans. I am not one who minds being corrected. Thanks again..
Great stuff. Have a fantastic time and keep us posted.
