Trash/Recycling Collection Continues in MoCo Despite Strike

Recycling 450x280.fwMontgomery County officials are continuing to remind residents to put out their trash and recycling for pickup despite the strike at Unity Disposal and Recycling, LLC.

In a news release dated Dec. 30, officials advised residents in the areas affected by the strike to have recyclables and trash out by 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

County officials said pickups are continuing although trucks are running slower than normal because of the high holiday volume.

Residents are also reminded that there is no County provided trash or recycling collection on January 1 because of the New Year’s Day holiday. The Thursday and Friday pickups will slide one day, with Saturday being the last collection day of the week, according to the county news release.
