Tractor Trailer Fire Causes Delays on Capital Beltway, Expected Through Morning Commute
Update: All travel lanes are reopened on the inner loop of the Beltway at New Hampshire Avenue.
FINAL: Tractor Trailer Fire. I-495 EB (Inner Loop) before MD-650 (Exit 28). Montgomery County, Maryland. Incident contained to right shoulder. All travel lanes are reopened. IL delays remain, beginning before MD-97. OL rubbernecking delays remain, extending onto I-95.

Alert Montgomery has posted a “severe traffic alert” for the inner loop of the Beltway at New Hampshire Avenue.
The alert went out about 6:20 a.m. Monday.
“Tractor trailer fire closes the right two lanes of the Inner Loop of I-495 just prior to New Hampshire Ave (MD 650 / Exit 28),” the alert said.
“This will be an extended closure likely lasting through the morning commute. Expect delays.”
