Just days after Toys “R”Us, Inc. officials announced they have filed for bankruptcy to begin “winding down” on its more than 700 company stores and inventory across the country, liquidation sales have begin in the region.
Residents can expect discounts on toys and other items starting off at 10 percent, according to a Toys “R”Us spokersperson.
Employees from the Toys “R” Us locations in Gaithersburg and Clarksburg have confirmed the liquidation sale has began and here’s what you should know:
- All sales are final
- Gift cards will be honored for roughly 30 days and should be used before April 15, according to a Toys R Us spokesperson
- Gift cards will be accepts online while they are still up and running
- Online and store locations could close by the end of April, according to a Toys R Us spokesperson
Liquidation sales typically work by the manufacturer of a specific product selling large quantities of an item simply because they don’t need or want to use the item any longer.
