Toys for Tots Organization Finds Home in Gaithersburg (PHOTOS)

toysfortotsThe Toys for Tots holiday drive begins in just a few weeks in Montgomery County and, this year, the organization has a new warehouse to call home thanks to a local moving company.

For a while, Toys for Tots Director Paul Gunther was worried about this year’s holiday drive after losing the availability of a previous warehouse space. In fact, he spent months reaching out to various property owners and landlords in search of new space. He even took to social media in hopes the public could help.

That’s when Jonathan Neal, president of Metropolitan Moving & Storage, learned of Toys for Tots’ dilemma and stepped in to help. Neal offered the Toys for Tots program the opportunity to use a Gaithersburg warehouse that his company had recently vacated, as a result of his company’s move to a new, larger warehouse and storage facility in Laurel.

“One of our main values at Metropolitan Moving & Storage is to always give back to the community whenever possible,” said Neal. “When our team saw on the news that the entire Montgomery County Toys for Tots program was in jeopardy, simply because they did not have a warehouse to store donations, we knew we had to help.”

“I am extremely grateful to be a part of a community with businesses like Metropolitan Moving & Storage that are willing to lend a helping hand and resources for a great cause,” said Gunther. “We’re extremely grateful to Jonathan and his team for helping to ensure that our program can operate and thrive this holiday season.”
