Happy New Year! 2014 was a great year for the MyMCMedia Facebook page thanks to your support and interest in our daily posts.

Our top Facebook posts in 2014 included issues about health, schools and local businesses. Our top five posts, ranked by their total reach on Facebook, are listed, below:

1. Montgomery Parks officials issue Lake Needwood warning: 28,160 total reach and 161 shares.
2. A popular restaurant is fined for alcohol violations: 22,096 total reach and 55 shares.
3. Two schools in Poolesville are designated “shelter in place” at the request of police: 20,272 total reach and 64 shares.
4. The MCPS Board of Education decides to remove all references to religion on the school calendar: 19,472 total reach and 70 shares.
5. Twelve kids in Montgomery County came down with whooping cough after being exposed to the illness at camp: 19,104 total reach and 123 shares.
