Tiger Woods Discusses Comeback, Future of Quicken Loans Tournament

During a press conference early Wednesday with members of the media, Tiger Woods said he’s blessed and thankful to be able to play golf again.

His comments come during the start of the Quicken Loans National Tournament scheduled this week in Potomac. Woods’ has not competed in the Quicken Loans National since 2015 after taking a break from golf following his fourth back surgery. The spinal fusion procedure Woods underwent was to alleviate pain in his back and legs.

“It’s been frustrating not to be able to compete, play and be a part of this event,” he said. “I think what we’ve created here over the years I think has been special […] it’s a gift to be able to play again.”
