Three Pedestrians Struck in Separate Incidents Wednesday Morning
Three pedestrians were struck by vehicles on Wednesday morning.
This news comes a day after Bethesda Beat reported that pedestrian crashes are up 14% so far this year, compared to this time last year.
According to Bethesda Beat, as of June, six pedestrians have died since they were struck by vehicles.
Pete Piringer, the spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, tweeted on Wednesday morning about three pedestrian-involved collisions that occurred.
Pedestrian Struck Near Twinbrook Parkway, Dowgate Court
At around 7:30 a.m., MCFRS responded to calls about a pedestrian who was struck near Twinbrook Parkway and Dowgate Court in Rockville.

Piringer said on Twitter that the collision caused Twinbrook Parkway to close temporarily. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police were called to the scene because MCFRS believed that the pedestrian was facing life-threatening injuries.
However, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Police Department told MyMCMedia that the pedestrian’s injuries have been downgraded to non-life-threatening.
Pedestrian Struck Near Tuckerman Lane, Kings Riding Lane
Piringer tweeted at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday that another pedestrian was struck near Tuckerman Lane and Kings Riding Way in North Bethesda.

Piringer said that the pedestrian faced non-life-threatening injuries.
Stroller With Infant Struck Near Mount Vernon Place, Rockville Pike
An infant in a stroller was struck by a vehicle after 11:15 a.m., according to Piringer’s Twitter.
The incident happened near Route 355 and Mount Vernon Place in Rockville.

Piringer said the infant was taken to the hospital for a check-up and evaluation. The infant faces non-life-threatening injuries, Piringer tweeted.

Since this story was published, there have been two more incidents where pedestrians have been struck by vehicles in Montgomery County.
