Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics for March 29

Since Friday, March 26, the Maryland Department of Health has reported 378 new cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County — 137 Saturday, 142 Sunday and 99 Monday. The county’s cumulative case count is 66,491.

The county most recently reported that 95 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Montgomery County as of March 29.

Montgomery County recorded no new coronavirus-related fatalities since Friday, March 26. The death toll remains at 1,422.

The county has a rolling seven-day average of 3.15% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is an increase of 0.14 from Sunday’s average rate of 3.01%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 19 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities (1,422) but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has 1,355 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 77,701 cases.

Somerset County on the Eastern Shore has the highest per capita cases with 96.4 cases per 1,000 residents. Allegany County in the western region of the state has the second-highest cases per capita at 92.4 cases per 1,000 residents.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics for March 29

Since Friday, March 26, the state recorded 3,732 new infections — 1,366 Saturday, 1,335 Sunday, and 1,031 Monday. The state’s cumulative case count is 409,075.

On Monday, the state reported 1,039 patients were hospitalized across the state with the virus. COVID-19 related hospitalizations have been rising since March 12 and for the first time since Feb. 20 the number is greater than 1,000.

Maryland recorded 28 new coronavirus-related fatalities since Friday, March 26 — 14 Saturday, five Sunday and nine Monday bringing the death toll to 8,075.

The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 4.99% for positive COVID-19 tests Monday. This is an increase of 0.29 from Sunday’s rate of 4.7%.
