The Green and BluePrint
The Seattle Seahawks dominated a high power Denver offense in the 48th super bowl on Sunday. Seattle allowed 8 points against a Broncos team that averaged 37.9 points per game. The Seahawks rattled Peyton Manning, forcing him to throw 2 INTs(one of those returned for a touchdown). Seattle forced 4 turnovers in total and held runningback Knowshon Moreno to 17 yards on 5 carries. The Seahawks made their presence felt early by forcing a error that turned into a safety. On the very next drive they forced a 3 and out possession. The Seahawks came out too physical for Denver and it resulted in total domination of Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Pete Carroll has created a defense that can stop one of the best offenses (statistically) in the history of the NFL. I guess when people say defense wins championships they are very serious. The Broncos were held scoreless in the first, second and most of the third quarter. They also didn’t score in the fourth quarter. Malcolm Smith was the first defensive player to win the Super Bowl MVP since Dexter Jackson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 37. That just shows you the defense is a driving force in Seattle. Pete Carroll has made something that he has never made in his College/NFL coaching career… A defense that has the determination and speed of a animal. This defense is young and will be ready to take home another ring next season.
