The City of Takoma Park Has Banned the Use of Polystyrene
The City of Takoma Park has banned the use of polystyrene packaging and food service ware within the boundaries of Takoma Park.
According to the city’s website, the ban went into effect July 1, but the ban was already in effect for food vendors and city events as of July 2013.
The new code also applies to restaurants, coffee shop, bakery, retail market, cafeteria, take-out counter, commercial kitchen, grocery store, convenience store, catering operation, food trucks or stands. As well as any food service facility in institutions such as hospitals, club, school, church, park or public building, among others.
