Telework Workshop on April 11

Employers interested in learning more about telework and its impact on productivity and employee morale are invited to a free breakfast presentation on April 11 from 8 – 10 a.m. The workshop will be held in the Montgomery County Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Lobby Level Auditorium, Rockville. Sponsors are the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Commuter Connections Program; and Montgomery County Department of Transportation, Commuter Services Section.

Recent media reports about telework have prompted discussions about whether this alternative work arrangement benefits employers. Experts on telework will explain what factors businesses and organizations should consider in making telework decisions and the benefits and challenges of telework. Local employers who are successfully implementing telework programs will discuss their experiences.

Speakers at the workshop include:
• National Telework Expert Elham Shirazi, Principal, ePlanning
• Nicholas Ramfos, Director, Alternative Commute Programs, Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments
• Representatives of businesses that have telework programs, including Microsoft, MayaTech and Europ Assistance USA

A limited number of free, one-on-one consultations with Shirazi may be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis to help employers evaluate whether telework is right for them.
