Teen Fatally Struck by Car

A Seneca Valley student was fatally struck by a car at Wisteria Drive and Germantown Road on Oct. 31.

A 15-year-old Seneca Valley High School student was struck by a car as she was walking to school in Germantown at 7:03 a.m. on Oct. 31 at the intersection of Germantown Road  (Route 118) and Wisteria Drive, according to Montgomery County police.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 2010 Ford Fusion was northbound on Route 118 on a green signal. According to police, the pedestrian, Christina Morris-Ward, had crossed the southbound lanes of Route 118 and was attempting to cross the northbound lanes when she was struck by the vehicle. Morris-Ward was transported to the hospital, police said, where she died from her injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, Kevin Bradley Carlson of Germantown, stayed on the scene of the accident.

The road is now open and the investigation continues.
