Takoma Park Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash (PHOTOS)
A 20-year-old Takoma Park man was killed and two others were hospitalized following a single vehicle crash on Thursday night in Takoma Park.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22nd at 7810 Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates a 2000 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Carroll Avenue when for reasons still under investigation the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a stone wall and embankment in front of a residence.
According to police, the driver died at the scene from his injuries. Police have identified him as Yoftahea Afework Melese of Takoma Park.
The front seat passenger, identified by police as a 16-year-old female, was transported to Suburban Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The rear seat passenger, identified by police as a 16-year-old male, was transported to Washington Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
