Takoma Park Hires Firm to Assist With Police Chief Search
City of Takoma Park officials approved an ordinance during Wednesday’s council meeting to hire a consulting firm to assist in their national search for the city’s new police chief.
Springsted Waters, based in Minneapolis, was chosen but will work out of their Mechanicsville office in Virginia.
City officials requested proposals from qualified executive search firms back in June to help with the search of the city’s new police chief. A total of six proposals were submitted by the July 7 deadline.
Former Chief Alan Goldberg resigned earlier this year after serving more than four years with the department.
Springsted Waters quoted a total cost of $24,500 for their services which includes professional fees of $19,500 and related expenses not to exceed $5,000.
The ordinance is effective immediately.
