A tree crashed onto a home in Silver Spring early Thursday morning, causing severe structural damage as fierce winds hit the area overnight. The incident happened around 4 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Are you ready for the next big weather event? Nearly two months later, many Montgomery County communities and residents are still cleaning up tree damage from the June 29 derecho.
