More than 100 people came to the County Council Hearing Room in Rockville on Feb. 25 to listen to recommendations made by the Tenants Work Group (in front) to the Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee. Councilmember Nancy Floreen chairs the committee, which includes Councilmembers Marc Elrich and George Leventhal.    

In his “State of the County” address, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett declared: “Thirty percent of Montgomery County residents rent their homes. Renters deserve a voice.
