A church effort to send Christmas cheer around the world is getting under way. Operation Christmas Child, a program of Samaritan’s Purse, sends shoeboxes filled with small items to 9.1 million children in 160 countries. Alex Nsengimana describes what that shoebox meant to him in a Rwandan orphanage:
