“Inside the Gaithersburg Book Festival” recaps the 2012 book festival and looks ahead to the 2013 festival. The show includes one-on-one interviews with authors, organizers and more. Take a look.    

With over 15,000 people attending the local event, the Gaithersburg Book Festival set a record for attendance, according to organizers. There were more authors than ever before too, including The Bloggess and The World Champion. MCM’s Sonya Burke reports.

When asked about the state of the book and e-readers, “The Song of Achilles” author and Orange Prize winner Madeline Miller told MCM’s Sonya Burke that she prefers to read and hold a real book rather than an e-version. Take a look.

“The Song of Achilles” author Madeline Miller won the Orange Prize today in London. Before she left, MCM’s Sonya Burke caught up with Miller at the Gaithersburg Book Festival and asked her about how she defines a “hero.”

Gaithersburg City Council member Jud Ashman is the founder of the city’s Book Festival, an event that will welcome over 100 authors tomorrow (May 19) on the grounds of City Hall. MCM recently asked Ashman who he is looking forward to meeting at the literary event. Take a listen.
