The Kentlands neighborhood held a pet swim on the last day of the summer swim season (Sept. 3) at the community’s pool in Gaithersburg. Kentlands resident Kristin Swick shared these photos of the doggy dip.

Passersby are talking about the beautiful lily pad bloom at Inspiration Lake in the community of Kentlands in Gaithersburg. The lily pads, also known as Water Lotus, are covering almost the entire lake. Gaithersburg Mayor Katz and others joined in the festivities as Not Your Average Joe’s opened in downtown Kentlands earlier this week. A group of Republican activists met in downtown Kentlands over the weekend to hand out literature touting “no increase in spending and no new taxes” just days before Maryland lawmakers convened a special session in Annapolis. The Republicans said they hoped residents would contact their lawmakers with the same message.
