With schools back in session, there are more pedestrians crossing local roadways. Many students walk to and from school as well to the bus stops, while others ride their bikes. Joining us with some back-to-school safety tips is Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer with advice for pedestrians and motorists.

The annual Silver Spring Jazz Festival is scheduled to take place at Veterans Plaza on Sept. 10 from 3 – 10 p.m. This year’s musical act lineup features David Sanborn and the Sanborn Electric Band, and local favorite, Marcus Johnson.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) recently held its 2016 regional high school summer school graduation at Richard Montgomery High School. MCPS-TV reports that 100 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas at the ceremony.
