The commercial use of plastic single-use bags at point of sale in prohibited in Takoma Park, effective Dec. 1, 2016. Exceptions include dry cleaning bags and newspaper bags where newspapers are delivered by the publisher, and non-point of sale plastic bags such as those used for produce.
