Montgomery County police have released a surveillance photo from a May 8 bank robbery in Wheaton in hopes the public can help identify the culprit.

The robbery occurred about 11:18 a.m. at an M&T Bank, at 12041 Georgia Ave. The culprit handed a note to the teller demanding money, police said. Once the man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled. The man was last seen on foot running northbound on Georgia Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information about the man or the bank robbery is asked to call the police Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest or indictment. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
