Study Finds That Maryland Ranks Ninth in Racial Integration, Eleventh in Progress

As Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaches, personal finance website WalletHub released its 2020 racial integration and progress report.

WalletHub measured disparities between white and black people by analyzing 21 key factors across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. These factors include median annual income, standardized-test scores and voter turnout.

This year, Maryland ranks ninth in racial integration and eleventh in racial progress.

In 2018, Maryland ranked eighth in racial integration and fifth in racial progress. In 2016, Maryland ranked fourth in racial integration and fifth in racial progress.
