Students Graduate Chinese Immersion Program (Video)

The StarTalk program hosted at Gaithersburg Elementary School immersed about 40 elementary school students in the Mandarin Chinese culture.

During the three-week summer program students explored science, cultural foods and greetings.

The graduation ceremony, hosted on July 26, challenged students from various cultures to put on an entire ceremony in the Chinese language.

Students were joined by parents and local officials including Gaitherburg Mayor Sidney Katz, Councilmember George Leventhal (At-large), Board of Education members Judith Docca (D-1) and Michael Durso (D-5).
