Adventist Healthcare Student Mental Wellness PSA Contest Results

The results are in for Montgomery Community Media’s Mental Wellness student video contest sponsored by Adventist Healthcare.

The video contest challenged youth in middle school and high school to create an original Public Service Announcement (PSA) that highlights the mental wellness issues impacting their lives. Examples of those issues inlcude bullying, depression, stress, anxiety, and suicide prevention.

Videos were required to share information, offer resources and spread positive messages about the importance of mental wellness and taking care of your mental health.

This contest was open to all 6th – 12th grade students in Montgomery County, including public and private schools. Students were given the option to enter the contest individually or as a group.

Congratulations to our winners – here are their original Public Service Announcements:

First Place goes to Jacob Holland for his ‘Mental Health Animation’ video. Jacob is a student at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring.

 

 

Second Place goes to a group of students for their ‘Panic PSA’ video. The students include Melanie Roberts, Jessica Theis, and Maddie Graham. The students attend Blake and Wootton High Schools.

 

 

Third Place goes to a group of students for their ‘Depression Kills’ video. The students include Katelyn Fuentes-Pineda, Ami Mclaywer, and Victoria Estrada who all attend Montgomery Village Middle School.

 

 

Honorable Mention goes to Daniela Martinez for her ‘It’s Nothing – Depression’ video. Daniela is a student at Shady Grove Middle School in Gaithersburg.
