Street Smart Campaign Kicks Off in Silver Spring (PHOTO)
Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker, who is a member of the Council’s Public Safety Committee, was one of the speakers on April 11 as representatives of police departments and planning agencies joined together in Silver Spring for the “Street Smart” campaign that aims to make roads safer for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists.
The campaign kicks off an area-wide effort that will result in more law enforcement officers on roads combined with a publicity campaign that seeks to make all who use the road more aware of the things they can do to reduce injuries and fatalities.
