Street Beat: Ramp Repairs on I-370 Planned Over Weekend
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is closing two ramps along I-370 beginning Friday night at 9 p.m. thru midday on Sunday.
According to a news release, the closures will allow crews to repair deteriorated sections of the ramps and will allow the concrete to set and cure before opening the ramps to traffic.
One of the ramps to be closed is westbound I-370 to southbound I-270. According to SHA, five concrete patches will be repaired during this closure. Drivers will be directed to use Sam Eig Highway, turn left at MD 119 (Great Seneca Highway), turn left at MD 28 (Key West Avenue), turn left at Shady Grove Road, then merge onto southbound I-270.
In addition, eastbound I-370 to Shady Grove Road for southbound MD 355 to Rockville will be closed. Four concrete patches will be repaired on this ramp. Drivers will be directed to the southbound I-270 exit. They may then use Exit 8 (Shady Grove Road).
