Road Money

Montgomery County Council President Roger Berliner makes a point on July 23 as the county celebrated the completion of a road repaving projects that improved more than 43 miles of seven roadways using $6.744 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. The federal funds employed 50 people. The selected roads were designated as high priority projects by the county’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) because of their deteriorated condition. Those at the ceremonies in Rockville included, from left: County Council member Craig Rice, County Executive Isiah Leggett, U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski and Congressman Chris Van Hollen.
