Sports & Social Opens in North Bethesda in Time for NFL Kickoff

Looking for a new place to cheer on the Washington Football Team?

Sports & Social officially opens at Pike and Rose in North Bethesda just in time for the NFL kickoff. The new sports bar and entertainment venue, part of a chain, has brought 80 new jobs to Montgomery County and continues to grow its team.

Judy Moore, Sports & Social’s vice president of marketing, said the establishment has “the ultimate sports watch experience” with a 100-foot media wall to watch the game in style, and several other televisions which can easily be watched without obstruction no matter where a patron sits. It also features food, drinks, your favorite sports game on TV, arcade games, live music, outdoor patio seating (where even dogs are welcome), a Crush Bar, and much more.

Jennifer Sullivan, the sales and marketing manager for Sports & Social, told MyMCM that one of Sports & Social’s values is supporting other local businesses in the area. Its beer collection includes many from local Montgomery County breweries like Denizens Brewing Co. in Silver Spring, 7 Locks Brewing in Rockville, and Silver Branch Brewing Company in Silver Spring.

Sullivan said the bar also has a partnership with Leveling the Playing Field in Silver Spring and is encouraging patrons to bring in used but reusable sports equipment to be donated to the organization. And, throughout the month of September, Sullivan said Sports & Social will be honoring healthcare workers at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney.

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until midnight; Fridays from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays open for brunch at noon and closes 2 a.m. on Saturdays and midnight on Sundays.

Sports & Social adheres to state and county health guidance. After a year of hardship for the restaurant industry, Sullivan said the team has been welcomed into the Pike & Rose community.

She said, “We’re even more excited to be able to give back a little more normalcy to what we lost during the pandemic.”
