South America Rhythms Meet at the Davis Library
It is a Spanish, Portuguese, and story telling kind of night.
Singer Cecelia Esquivel and her musical group Cantare are scheduled to lead a program on Latin rhythms for children and adults on April 25 at the Davis Library in Bethesda.
According to a news release, the program is sponsored by Friends of Library/Davis Chapter and will feature music from the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Esquivel will sing in Spanish and Portuguese and will share stories about each song. The singer studied music in Argentina and earned a BA in music performance at the University of Maryland, and an LCSW degree from the Catholic University of America.
Library officials said chapters of Friends of the Library raise money to organize free events for the community.
The concert is scheduled for noon and the library is located at 6400 Democracy Boulevard Bethesda.
