A Snow Emergency Plan was issued for Montgomery County at 5 p.m. on Feb. 16.
In an effort to allow State Highway Administration snow clearing crews the ability to treat and clear all major roadways, all vehicles left unattended on Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway) corridor and Interstate 270 corridor will be towed for safe keeping, according to a Maryland State Police new release.
According to police, all storage and towing fees incurred are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
