School Superintendent Smith Meets with the Media

Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Jack Smith met with reporters Thursday in his first regular press conference. The school system plans to meet with reporters every month.

Smith described new programs and other details about the MCPS. The school system has 163,000 students. He touted the rebuilt Thomas Edison School of Technology, Mental Health Awareness Month, child abuse procedures, pedestrian safety, the achievement gap and even heating systems at the schools.
