Silver Spring Jazz Festival Tops our Weekend Planner, Sept. 8 – 10

Silver Spring Restaurant Week continues through Sunday, providing an opportunity to explore great food in Silver Spring from more than 30 participating restaurants.

The sounds of jazz will fill Veterans Plaza on Saturday, September 9 as the Silver Spring Jazz Festival returns for the 14th year. Marcus Johnson performs at 7 p.m. followed by the headliner Lao Tizer Band at 8:15 p.m.

The Pawpaw Festival returns to Meadowside Nature Center on Saturday, September 9 from noon – 4 p.m. The pawpaw fruit tree is native to Maryland but not well known; the celebration includes music, crafts, games, advice on pawpaw cultivation and the opportunity to taste a pawpaw. Pawpaw fruit and trees will be available for purchase.
