Senior Planet Montgomery Offering Free Online Classes Through Dec. 4

Senior Planet Montgomery is offering another set of online classes for elderly residents that focuses on how to “thrive” at home. The sessions, which are being offered from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4, include “Virtual Activism Against Racism and Police Brutality” and “Cloud Storage.”

These classes concentrate on user-friendly tools and resources and are designed to enable older adults to learn how to utilize technologies to improve their daily lives.

According to a press release, one class will be delivered in Spanish and one will be delivered in Mandarin. A variety of exercise lessons also will be offered. Classes also change on a weekly basis.  All that is needed to participate is an internet connection and a smart device.

Sessions offered Nov. 30-Dec. 4 include:

  • Hello Montgomery County!: Thursday, Dec. 3, 2-3 p.m. Join fellow Montgomery County residents for an hour of socializing.
  • Cloud Storage: Thursday, Dec. 3, 4-5 p.m. Participants will learn the basics of cloud storage, and how to store documents, images and other media files remotely.
  • Virtual Activism Against Racism and Police Brutality: Friday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m.-noon. Participants will be introduced to digital tools that can help support racial justice. The lecture will also discuss how to contact elected officials electronically and confirm voter registration status.
